Gulf Markets Daily Commentary
Most Gulf equity markets closed higher on Wednesday, buoyed by restored crude flows from Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline and growing optimism over a diplomatic resolution to the US–Iran conflict. Brent slipped below USD 100 a barrel for the first time since 8 September. Dubai edged 0.2% higher, Qatar rose 0.3% and Abu Dhabi reversed early losses to finish 0.4% up, while the Saudi market was closed for a public holiday.

Global Equities: Primary Uptrend Intact, Volatility Ahead
We believe the primary trend remains upwards, but expect declines in the near to medium term as bond yields rise: the US 30-year trades well over 5% and the 10-year sits in the 4.75–4.80% range, while the S&P 500's 21–22x forward P/E leaves little headroom for the equity risk premium. Among GCC indices Saudi Arabia outperformed in August on resilient bank earnings, though corporates have signalled a softer second half of 2026.
